Youth Program Success Coach II
Category: Full-timeEducate Tomorrow is growing! We are seeking results-oriented team players with creativity, drive, and leadership skills to manage and grow our programs. Our mission is to have a positive and enduring impact on those we serve, focused on college access and success. We address the barriers of educational attainment through college readiness and alternative education programs by integrating activities designed to support the holistic needs of current/former foster youth and those experiencing housing insecurity.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Youth Program Success Coach II, you will support a caseload of up to 15 young adults, providing success coaching aimed at helping clients achieve stable housing, education, employment, and permanent connections.
You will conduct intake assessments, develop personalized support plans, and continuously monitor progress, incorporating trauma-informed care practices into your daily responsibilities to create a supportive and safe environment. You will also facilitate family support, crisis intervention, and regular check-ins as needed.
Your role will involve assisting young adults in navigating various social services, including housing, mental health, healthcare, employment, and education programs, while serving as a liaison between clients and community resources to ensure effective utilization of wraparound services.
Additionally, you will use appropriate digital platforms to connect clients to relevant services and resources, track participant progress, and maintain accurate records.
In this role, you will actively promote youth leadership and empowerment by involving clients in decision-making processes related to services they may receive.
You will be expected to foster a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages advocacy, mentorship, peer support, and community-building activities.
Populations served include young adults (ages 18-24) who are housing insecure, those with mental health challenges seeking emergency, transitional, and rapid rehousing, and LGBTQ+ young people.
Qualified candidates must have:
- A Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree preferred) in social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of experience working with at-risk youth and/or young adults. Lived experience related to housing insecurity or foster care is strongly preferred, and Educate Tomorrow encourages inquiries from young adults who have this type expertise.
- Determination and ability to implement trauma-informed care practices and openness integrate these principles into everyday interactions with young people to create a supportive and safe environment. Specifically, candidates should recognize the widespread impact of trauma, understand paths for recovery and actively seek to avoid re-traumatization of clients.
- Willingness to innovate and create new partnerships and paths to success
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse youth populations.
- Ability to apply trauma-informed principles to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Knowledge of navigating community resources, housing, and social services.
- Familiarity with HMIS, Unite Us, and other data management tools is a plus.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Commitment to youth empowerment, advocacy, and positive development.
- Ability to be adaptable, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Commitment to help youth identify their strengths and help them determine the best way to reach their goals and dreams, including education, well-being, and employment.
