"It's Your Life" Life Skills Camps: The purpose of the Life Skills Camp is to educate transitioning youth on specific areas such as money management, educational and employment opportunities, health and housing. The camp's goal is to address the specific needs of each young adult. Hands-on projects include preparing a personal budget, opening a savings account, participating in mock interviews, dining and employment etiquette and much more. Each student receives a binder containing written materials as a continuing resource. The camp also serves as the platform for mentor recruitment and matching through a volunteer experience with foster youth. Goals: To provide a formal venue at which youth can increase their life skills, knowledge regarding transitional issues and topics, and confidence to so they can successfully transition from dependency to adulthood. Outcome to date: 198 Participants in 2007, 160 Participants in 2006, and 180 Participants in 2005.
